well, it would have been more 'credible' if a 'regular guy' (someone, like, me) had won, but that doesn't mean the raffle was 'rigged' or underhanded in any way, and if he's on the BoD, he's most likely put in a good bunch of uncompensated time doing things that move the muzzleloading world foreward, which is more than i can honestly say for myself.
so, if he bought the winning ticket and everything was on the up- and- up (and there's no indication that it wasn't) he deserves the rifle.
no, i wouldn't open the envelope, much less look at the offer inside. and even though the rifle is no doubt worth the fifty grand, i'd put it over my fireplace, nad i'd tell the IRS that i had no idea what it was worth, and they could kiss my already overtaxed, underrepresented youknowwhat.
