Its bullcrap that the thread was locked. Discussion was just getting interesting, and everyone was being respectful. Makes me think the powers that be are liberal censors.

The internet is not America, its the one world gobermint in action, get used to it.

According to our new state laws ALL non serial numbered home made firearms are ghost guns.

Tho we have been making them since 1492.

I guess the point to your original comment on this post is that this forum is not for political comment. There are plenty of forums to get on to start those conversations. To keep everyone happy here, keep the comments focused on the forum topics.

I guess the reason I brought it up was in Australia's gun law they outlawed old antiques and cut them up. Do I know that for a fact? No, I just heard it. Maybe some of you can enlighten the forum of what happened over there with regards to ML'ers?

17: We do not discuss Politics outside the Politics forum.

That post turned to politics so…….

muzzleloaders would have to be redefined to consider them a “ghost gun”: Antique Firearm Exception
The term “firearm” is very broad and includes almost everything that a person could shoot. For hunters or people that want to carry a gun for subject to the Federal firearm possession prohibition, they would not be permitted to use a normal rifle, shotgun, or pistol as those items clearly fall under the definition of “firearm.” However, they most likely would be able to use an “antique firearm,” which would allow them to use most conventional muzzleloaders. An “antique firearm” includes:

  • any firearm with a matchlock, flintlock, percussion cap, or similar type of ignition system) manufactured in or before 1898; or
  • any replica of a firearm manufactured in or before 1898 IF such replica is not designed for using rimfire or centerfire fixed ammo
  • any muzzle loading rifle, muzzle loading shotgun, or muzzle loading pistol, which is designed to use black powder, or a black powder substitute, and which cannot use fixed ammunition

End result is if it is not written into law no firearm is safe. Does not matter if a firearm is antique or not. The ATF had AK/AR15 pistol stocks legal and then changed that to illegal. If you think that the ATF opinion is law you are mistaken.

Your muzzleloader/cap and ball is at the wim of the government. Time will tell.

It was locked to prevent comments beyond the scope of the question

It does not require violations to close a thread.

One does not need to wait for a person to fall off the cliff to put up a fence at the cliff to prevent others from a fall.

The question was answered. ALL that would follow would be a bunch of opinions about the new law WHICH DOES NOT CONCERN MUZZLELOADING, and neither does complaining about closing the thread under GENERAL MUZZLELOADING.

Like the 2a political comment below....YET this is under General Muzzleloading.
