One of the things I miss about living in Ohio and belonging to the Shawnee Longrifles, is their range... It was nestled down in a hole so to speek and for the most part, out of the wind because of the natural wind breaks... The range here, where I live now is just the opposite... Flat open ground with 25 plus mph wind that changes constantly... This year's wind has been the worst I can remember since moving here in '88... I learned fast however that fixed sights was the only way to go for me... If your constantly changing your sights to accomodate the wind, your S.O.L. on the following shots. For the past 15 years I've pretty much shot nothing but fixed sights and can honostly say, I believe it has made me a better shooter... I'd rather do without the wind this time of year, but come August it'll get 100+ degrees and no wind at all for a'while!!! You would think our club president would initiate a wind break program??? Wait! That's me... I'll have to get started on this at once!!!
