Hello from Germany!

Yesterday evening at 05:00 p.m. I went out and took a seat in a groundblind at a baiting. For over an hour nothing moved. At 06:20 p.m. from the left side about 50 yds away I recognized a movement. I took my binocular and saw a roe in slow motion moving to the baiting. Changed my binocular with the deerhunter .50. At first I got probs getting the mark on the body, because there was a bit less snow. But then I let my .490 fly, after the smoke was gone all was quiet and no roe to see. Reloaded and went to the place og hitting. There I saw the tracks in the snow, but no hair and no blood. The tracks went into a beech thicket. Useless to go there in the night. So I did it this morning. I find it at once, it was only 20 meters away from the hitting place. The PRB hit the doe on the left side behind the diaphragm, but didn't hit the stomache or a gut.It exits the roe on the left side above the shoulder blade. Charge was 75 grs of WANO PP, .490 PRB, 0,20mm lubed patch. Here are the pics.

Way to go. My wife has the same rifle but uses open sights. Her eye sight is getting worse, so I was wondering how the scope works on that rifle?

Hi playfarmers!

The scope works fine. You must be aware not to take a to big objektive. The scope is necessary because the deers move late in the evening and early in the morning. No chance to aim at them with an open sight, even when it is a fieber sight.

That is outstanding Dirk!! Congratulations! I can not wait until this weekend. It will be my first chance with my Deer Hunter.

Weidmanns Heil!

Great job Kirrmeister! Hey are there custom muzzleloader builders in Germany still these days or has it faded away over time?

Thanks much,

Billy
