Have to give @Ashton Daniels credit for this idea, I just put my own twist to it. 6-7 months ago I cut several tops from straight River Cane and put them in my inside shop to dry. I picked the straightest and started sizing a wiping stick for my .62/20 Trade Gun. I had a worm on hand that I secured with Jute twine and epoxy, then glued and stitched an Elk hide handle on the end for a good grip. Put on a little dark stain and rubbed in a coat of T&T/gum turpentine mix. The worm takes Tow nicely.

Awesome! So glad you’re back in the saddle…. Nice job with the wiping stick. I like it!

I made some longbow arrows with river cane a while back…. Plans to do more, (but better!). That’s some amazing stuff. Super strong.
