Aside from probably needing a lever to open after a few shots, it seems a functional & significant rifle in the development of a reasonable breech loader. In excellent condition. That alone attests to the strength of it's design.
Do you know any of it's history? How it survived in that condition?

I wondered if maybe a wrench of some sort was made for it. I'm sure that would foul pretty quickly. I know nothing of its history. I bought it from an antique shop in Britain. It has been used quite a bit, judging from the frizzen wear.
