New question, Has anyone ever used only wood to make a powder horn sort of speak. During the winter i would like to try to build one out of wood. I would make it like a flat horn. Would there be an issue with static electricity or any other safety concern i have not thought of to stop me?

Thank you!

Should be fine, I've seen one antique in person and many photos of antiques made of wood. many would probably be more properly called flasks but many were horn shaped with copper or brass valves.

How about these?

These are 17th century I think. The one of the right at the base has a compartment for bullets. Not sure where I save these from, as I'm on my laptop.

I have made several for both priming and barrel powder they work just fine. Also have one for shot with a measure spout to pour 1 and 11/4 once loads. I have used them since the 1990s.

Good project! No worry about static in wood, I'd think. Good luck!
