Had a little time at the shooting range yesterday and started working on an elk load for my two-band Euroarms Enfield with 1:66 twist barrel. With 90 grains of Goex FFg, and a Lee REAL bullet lubed with Matthews, the load was on for elevation at 50 yards but kinda spread out for windage. Going to 100 grains raised the impact point and reduced the windage spread, but not as much as I would like. Didn't have time to go up to 110 or 120 grains. Anyone else out there shooting a .577 Enfield and conicals?

Try putting a wad under the REAL bullet. It worked wonders in my 58. Group size dropped from 6" at 100 yds off a bench to 1 1/2". I used 70 grs of FFg Goex.
