WTS this beautiful .40 caliber Ohio Rifle made by Mike Compton of Iowa. Only fired about 60 times and bore and gun is in fantastic like-new shape. 32” G.R.Douglas barrel, L&R percussion lock, and R.E. Davis double set triggers. Pretty maple stock with brass trimmings, poured pewter nosecap, and browned barrel and lock. Phenomenal inletting throughout. 13 1/2 LOP and weighs just 6.3 lbs and balances amazingly. Perfect small game or target gun. Asking $1499 shipped.

I like the rifle very much and at $1k it's a steal but....

It's a .40. This means I cannot legally use it for hunting here in IL. I'm sure that's the hold up for most folks as well. Too big for some tasks, not big enough for others.

Congratulations on sale, if I was into percussion I would have considered it. Someone got a nice rifle for sure.
