WTS: Used J.E. Brown 20 gauge French Tulle Smoothbore

This French smoothbore was assembled by contemporary builder J.E. Brown. This muzzleloader is over 20 years old, but is in Verry Good to Excellent condition. It has been fired, but has no significant marks, or scratches. Wood stock is solid with no cracks, pins are tight.

The 20 gauge / .620" bore octagon-to-round barrel is 44" in length. The barrel maker is unknown, but I think J.E. Brown tended to use Colerain Barrels. A silver front sight is soldered on the barrel and a rear sight, in a cut dovetail.

The barrel, lock, and iron furniture are brown finished. Stocked in black walnut. The lock is a Jim Chambers Early Ketland Flintlock, which is a “forged" plate design, with attached pan, but no pan bridle arm in the early fashion.

Will be shipped in a wooden crate.

Asking Price: $1,650

Thanks for looking

J. Ed Brown. North Carolina builder. Built for TOTW for years. Actually met him when living in North Carolina. Decent human, and a great builder.
For the record there was/is a builder named Jeb Brown. I once owned a rifle built by him. I believe his middle initial was also 'E' but not positive.
