Being on a fixed income now, getting toys is a big deal but my wife the banker gave me the go ahead to get a rifle kit and thats a big deal for me.
Having said that my choice is a Bedford county flintlock in .36 caliber.
I've never tackled anything as ornate as one of these with all the brass but ya cant be scared!
Being retired now I've got the time and most of the patience.
I've built simpler so I'm confident that it wont whip my arse but now to choose a kit....any suggestions?
Hope it looks like this when it's done😀

Probably the best place to start, @Moleman, is probably Pecatonica River. They do list a Bedford kit.

These are really just sets of parts and a lot of tools are needed to actually assemble the rifle.

You will need to have the best of the rifle building books. "The Gunsmith of Grenville County" by Alexander is quite good.

Thank you Sir, I'm gonna need some really good references for this build.
