I was asked this by my son today and My answer was my first one. It is a real dorky looking pistol with a skull carved in the wood ware the butt cap go's. I bought it for $20.00 and abused it by shooting the 45 cal ball over 45 grains of bp. And then wondered why it was shooting loose ! I now own a premo long rifle and it is near and dear to me but I must admit the crappy pistol is my favorite.

I have a CVA 12 ga sxs my Dad got for me before he died-very versital gun-even shoots .69 round balls quite well. I have killed many a small game-even ducks and geese. Lots of fum and lots of sentimental value too.

I've only been in the BP sport for a couple years but out of my five frontstuffers my .54 Lyman GPR is my favorite. It has been to the range with me ten times more than the rest and it's the only one I have used for hunting.

I love all of my BP guns for different reasons, but my overall favorite has to be the .58 cal. T/C Renegade flintlock, Boomer. I started shooting flinters when I was 10 with my dad's .54 cal. Renegade and I wanted one just like it, but when I saw that I could get it in .58 caliber, I decided to upgrade a little.

Call me a masochist, but the only thing that I would change on this gun would be the rubber recoil pad. I miss the old steel butt plate.

I don't know that I could pick just one! As Flash says, I love each of them for different reasons. But there is something special about my "first" -- a plain late Lancaster in 40 caliber with a Davis flintlock. All sentiment of course, but she shoots pretty darn straight, too.

My Numrich .36 Buggy Rifle tags along whenever I go outside, 'cept durin' deer, bear or hog seasons.

i started out with a cva pistol 25 years ago all i could afford was in 8th grade for a kid fun to shoot just couldnt hit anything then after i graduated bought a traditions pennsylvania long rifle caplock wanted a flinter but didnt know anything about them love that gun then about 5 years ago one of the guys that hunts my property gave me a hatfield flinter wow was i excited love that gun too but always wanted a golden age rifle well this spring finally had the money had a guy custom make a john armstrong it has curly maple that just makes me drool my fovorite part of the gun also 11 sterling inlays all engraved siler flintlock rice barrel and fully carved in all the right places i guess its my favorite hope to make meat this week with it still have my other guns though cant seem to part with them

my favorite rifle is a .45 H&A heritage model. i do have others that i am fond of but that one i can pick up and know that i will hit what i'm aiming at. plus it looks trim amd balanced. my favorite bp pistol is a lyman 1858 remington that i built from a kit many years ago. can't hit a damn thing with it though.

I am a very decisive, opiniated guy with most everything, but this is one area I struggle with if it's a favorite from a looks point of view, or a caliber poiint of view, or a power point of view, etc.

I go through spells where I the beauty of my .45 & .50 caliber stocks make them my favorites, love shooting them, etc...but then I get into shooting while thinking of hunting and the power of the .54 & .58cals make them my favorites.

Hope I never have to decide to keep only one from a 'favorites' point of view...drive me crazy trying to decide

Can't really say. I have six rifles and enjoy shooting them all. Each one has its own personality and all shoot better than I do. I am a little more partial to the flinters but not enough to single any out as a favorite.

I could/would close my eyes, open Squire Robin's gun locker, and choose the first one that fell out on the floor.

Among the flintlocks, my Early Iron Mounted Rifle. Among my capguns, my 2 band 33" English Parker Hale.

I had a Traditions flinter I really enjoyed shooting. It was fun! Now I have a caplock.I didn't have a choose ,but plan to rectifie that in the future. I remember when I looked for my flinter EVERYONE tried to talk me out of it.They were mostly gun shop owners and just wanted to sell me one of their many in-lines. Now I tend to buy through catologs or wait till Friendship comes along.

my favorite is a toss up between my bess and a 1850s fowler both do something for me. I love smooth bores

My .54 caliber T/C White Mountain Carbine, with a tang peep sight. It is a tack driver with 80 grains FFFG Goex, .018", T/C Pillow Ticking Patch, .530 Hornady Round Ball.
