In my CW reenacting group some of the guys name their weapon after their first love. This can lead to some confusion when there are two with the same name. At least none of the guys call their weapon George.

Foster From Flint

Got two Renegades. One is cut down a might and I came by a Green Mountain factory made 22" long .50 LRH barrel a while back in a package deal. So, reckon maybe I got Ren and Stimpy.

I have named them Thump ( on both ends ) Lucretia
the lovely but deadly and my latest musket the Mutant. But over the years the guns I depend on to
shoot the best never seem to get named..Go figure!

Oh least I forget I once owned a .77 caliber first model bess I named Dreadnought because when the patched .750 ball over 100 grains of Goex Cartridge went off...it looked like a broadside from a British man O War!

I have one TC PA Hunter that was such a pain in the rear to find a consistant load for that's its called Eureka after I found out what it likes and doesn't like. It's still a fussy old fart but it will shoot if I give it what it wants. It's an annoying rifle but I can't seem to part with it.

Another 24" 1:28 twist flinter is named Thumper because of the 5 deer I have taken with it (with various loads) not one has taken so much as a step and the shortest shot has been 68 paces and the longest was 150.

While I don't name my guns, I do call them by caliber. I'll say, "I believe I'll use the .45", or "The .36", "the .50", and so on. I confess, though, that although all of them ask to be named "Boomer", I reserve that name for my .62 fowler.

I was just curious :hmm: if you "named" your guns or perhaps just your favorite one(s)? :idunno: If so what name have you given it? :hatsoff:

My very 1st was a .22 that I had refinished, Named it "Blondie" after the blonde stock (I was 12). I then named my favorite deer rifle (a 7mm rem mag) Tiny. Relatively recently I got into Muzzloaders and the indian names have seemed fitting to me...My 1st "build" a Lyman Great Plains .54 has been named "Ya-Nisa" it means buffalo which I have kilt with it. Me second build has been named "Bodaway" meaning fire maker. My next build I am going to name "O-Yo-hu-Sa" which means Death.

With her 44" Dickert profile barrel I named my Tennessee mountain rifle "Long Tall Sally". Like the song says: "She's built real sweet!"

My old .375 H&H was "The Judge" and my late uncle's .577 NE was "Helen". Her last name was "Thunder".

I had a Pedersoli 1977 Charleville that I named after my wife Susan. Only since it was a Frenchie I made it Suzette. Now the reason for this was cause the gun, like my wife, was broad of butt and sharp of tongue(flint)! She took it all in stride. Good woman; glad I still have her. Should have kept the Charlie too tho!

My .300 WinMag- 'Angel de Muerte' (Angel of Death); my .458 WinMag- 'Big Bang'! I think I'll consider 'Truth' for my .32 Crockett rifle.

An old friend of mine named his .300 WinMag 'E.F. Hutton' (old commercial- 'when E.F. Hutton speaks, people listen').

My 50 caliber Tennessee rifle is Connie, because I'm confident when I shoot her.

My 32 caliber Tennessee rifle is Humility, same reason.

My .45 Custom built, by my Uncle Beryl Sink, is named hard Times. Back in th eighties, I was out of work and down to our last Dollar. To top the year off , my Oldest Son was in a very bad Car accident. They were hit by a drunk driver, with my son`s best friend being killed. The Drunk got off on a technicality. After things settled down, my Son bought it for me from the settlement money. Indeed it was hard times....

The 10 gauge SxS cap gun is called "The Duster" because my Son dusted all 10 clays in a competition the first time he ever laid eyes on it!

My .50 Lyman Trade Rifle is called "The Tack Driver" for that's what it does! :haha:

My Son's .50 Lyman Trade Rifle is called "Fillet-Mignon" cause he wins Over-the-log Meat Shoots with it! :)

My Walker revolver is called "The Boomer!" :shocked2: because everybody else stops when I shoot it, just to watch

My 12 gauge pump is called "Green-Stamps", because the wife bought the thing for me as a gift almost 27 years ago using S&H Greenstamps, out of a mail-order catalog. :haha:

I call them all kinds of names when they start acting up... :rotf:
Other than that. I call them all "Critter Gitters"

Well, I have a Sharps .45-120-3 1/4 that I load with a 500 grain cast bullet. I have named it "Kills On Both Ends". Each of my other rifles have been named after my wife, my daughter, each of my grandkids, my son and my son-in-law. I've run out of family members for whom I can name guns so I can't buy any more......yeah, right :haha:
