Just got this in the mail yesterday after a 13 day to get here trip from Oklahoma. Short, 30" barrel
Fusil de Chasse. It is one of the India made guns from Military Heritage i believe. Nicely put together
except for a lot of extra wood in the stock. Going to disassemble it and take a bunch of wood off
and install a front sight. The spot at the rear of the barrel that looks like an epoxy filled dovetail
wasn't one after all. When i started sanding on it it turned out to be just epoxy, where someone
had tried to epoxy a rear sight to the barrel. It all came off and looks fine now. I do have a question.
The barrel is highly polished, almost looks chrome. I want to give it an aged patina look. What is
the best way to do that? I have heard Lemon juice or vinegar. But what is the best way? Or will
one of those work. I don't want to brown it, just get rid of the shine and make it look aged. Thank
you for any advice.

Very cool. Let’s see those pics when you get it how you want it. 20 ga or 12ga?

.20 ga. I want to shorten the forend about an inch or 1 1/2" and round it so the barrel is past the stock and not square and then take a lot of wood of the rest of it. Has a good sparking lock.
Be interested in a picture of the finished product if you don’t mind.

I have the first cousin to it. Mine was a little (actually a lot) chunky before a builder redid the entire gun. It was a good squirrel gun before. Now it’s a better looking good squirrel gun.

"Nuther question. All the metal on it is in the white. Would it be appropriate to go ahead and Brown it all
or is in the white more correct?

Pictures? If you don’t mind😁

Lock pan? What issue does it have? It fits tight against the barrel. Already said i was planning to take a lot of wood off the stock.

Of course, squirrels were shot with a load of #6 shot. I’ve shot this gun a lot even if the fit and finish and balance is no where near what a Chambers is. The cardboard box was taken down with ~60 grains of 2f, and a jute tow wadded .575 ball.

Thats great ! Glad its a good sparker ! Like everyone else mentioned ... Pics when it done ! Have fun ...glad you like her ! Enjoy ! :)

Brownells Oxpho Blue jell works great rubbed back with oil and steel wool. Make sure you degrease it good prior to applying.
If you do a light browning rubbed back first and then a rubbed back blue its even better.
