THE WOODS OF S.C.
i just finished this one today. it is in 54 cal. i blackened the barrel, completely dissembled the lock and fire blued it, not the frizzin of course. the lock is black, in the photos it shows light color from glare, and aged the wood and brass a bit. i will post this for sale in a day or two.

Very nicely done fire-bluing. I've been experimenting on some bar stock, and I can say, it's not easy to get a nice consistent result. Beautiful example of a completed Woodsrunner. You're making me hanker for one!! :thumb:

.... this rifle is better than the photos show,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
ya, I know, photos never do justice. And do nothing for touch or smell. I don't care what any horn*y old leches might think, there's nothing that feels better than a nicely finished piece of fine wood.

.... well, almost nothing ... at my age I'll settle for the fine wood.
