That looks like alot of labor! Well done.
Yup, lots of labor.
Wonderful work @Norman Brooks! When the stock is finally finished, force some suitable coloured stick wax into the small deficient areas and they will totally disappear - I use that trick on all my older stuff where gaps open up a bit. You have more patience than me! Again, nicely done.

Pete
Yes on the wax sticks, have used them before, and other things. I did get the PB release in just haven't taken a picture yet. EDIT: Added pictures.

Sat on the back porch sorting tire weights. I don't allow any painted lead weights anymore. Some of the coatings have zinc, from what I hear. This morning yielded 83 lbs. of good lead weights, and equally as much waste. Garbage will be heavy next week. Good thing the trucks have lifts.

Went to the range today to shoot the Colt Special M1861 repro. Goal of the mission was to try to lock in where this thing hits at 100 yds with 60 gr 2F and Minie ball. Having already done that at 50 yds. The range I chose to use is notorious for being windy, but has great level 100 yd ranges and no overhead shelter structure to concern with ramrod clearance. I checked the weather before leaving and the local NWS reported wind less than 10 kts, so I went for it. Only upon arriving to see the flag standing out straight from the flagpole. Well, went shooting anyway, but goal not accomplished. Range time consumed mostly just with using up the paper cartridges left over from the last range trip. Fun making BP smoke anyway. Sorry, no pics.

Heavy rain at my sons uk Cirencester

Holts were selling off unsold auction items and they wanted £260 for an almost finished 28g pair of chopper lump shotgun barrels Nice bores but un-chambered 3 days later they are mine. Hope to make them into. Double muzzle loader Bit too thin to rifle but a bit of oval bore would not do harm . Wife has not twigged on yet haha. Must say they feel at 30” very light and small as I am used to heavy barrels and 12 bores

This morning I ordered a .54 caliber barrel for my Cabela's Hawken from muzzle-loaders.com. What they sell as the "Bridger Hawken" is the same Investarm rifle as the old Cabela's Hawken. My rifle is currently a .50 and I want better terminal performance with round balls on the big deer I hunt in northern PA. I.e., I want better odds for complete pass-throughs.

Unpacked my T-O-t-W order of Skychief load materials (wads and cards) and a round ball mold I ordered in anticipation of the Kibler Fowler I ordered being shipped out in the not too distant future.

The Doc is out and like the old Heinz Ketchup ad, in ANTICIPATION! 😅

I must admit to cheating on you all; I was working on an unmentionable.

It was made in 1876 so I didn’t feel too guilty, but i feel much better now that I’ve confessed. 😇
But if it made you happy we are all happy. And if it’s interesting we are most happy to read it , unmentionables, banjo”s and bows an arrows, both from Africa , they are all history , but not too much of it . Ha ha love from London. Well the West Country today

Thinking is a repro powder horn, beautiful
as they are , an unmentionable. I don’t mind what it is as long as it goes “BANG” plenty of smoke and a glorious smell . Then we have clothes and hand made leather bags, and Pedrosoli , our Italian friends. i am 81 and not yet an unmentionable ha ha love from across the pond, and probably talking a load of manure, but like so many of you i do try. Ha ha
