I have a hankerin' to get me one of these. I know they are very entry level and not so much pc, but I just can't seem to help myself. Ive had pedersoli, lyman, etc... I think its time I add one to my collection, I hear they are accurate shooters at least!

The best thing about jukar, cva and traditions Kentucky rifle is all the dirty looks you get when you out shoot people with fancy guns.

The Spanish know how to produce an accurate barrel, that's for sure. They all tend to be lasers. My SDI Shenandoah version, with the one-piece stock and set triggers, is a pretty cool gun, I don't care what anybody says.

I have one. It’s a good one but it ain’t fer sale.

Notice that this group was shot at 75 yards in the rain. My favorite guns are flintlock smooth bores but this one is hard to beat.

The only reason I was looking at the deluxe is because I’ve heard the regular Kentucky has a floppy trigger with a heavy pull…Is that true?

Yes, but there are things you can do to tighten it up. But, if you have the option, get the deluxe with the set triggers. I think it also comes with the upgraded lock with the bridle on the tumbler. I may be wrong about that, I know my Shenandoah has the bridle.

My set trigger was gritty, so I replaced the roll pins with dowel pins, polished everything, and it really smoothed things out.

To say that the Spanish barrels are very good shooters is an understatement because they are in fact equal to almost any barrel produced in the US. Pick up a Crockett .32 or any one of their rifles and see for yourself. I've yet to beat that little .32 with any other rifle I own. I can usually get about the same accuracy out of my custom .32 flintlock as I did with the Crockett. But when you're talking about a thumbnail size group at 40 yards how do you judge which is better?

Yep, the horn is a kit from crazy crow.

My Traditions has the stock factory trigger but you see what it’s capable of. The trigger pull isn’t as bad as the pull on a modern double action revolver.

I have one in percussion and is very happy with it. It shoots very well and I would say its one of my best shooters.

I recently sold my Kentucky to a kid. I'm hanging on to my SDI Shenandoah.

It's floppy but I never thought the pull to be heavy. You can take the floppy out by ordering the single trigger for the Frontier rifle. It has a return spring. It might be a drop in but if not I think the return spring is a fit.

The lock with bridle makes the upgrade worthwhile

Why the 2 piece stock? There is a reason, I'm sure. I've heard their accuracy is as good as any. We see them a lot in movies and specials about history.

Agree Cruiser. I think also wood economy. Smaller pieces cheaper/easier, less culling, than the long skinny blanks.
