Currently deer hunting with my Hawken it’s opening morning of the muzzleloader deer so far no deer and no shots that I’ve heard
No luck yet I had to come home for a day and headed back up north to hunt this afternoon and tomorrow is the last day for my deer tag. Bear is also open it is very unusual to have bear open while deer hunting here in AZ. My camper was invaded by a field mouse but I finally caught him and evicted him at 1:30 am after he chewed up a bunch of munchies he was a little cutie but he's lucky I spared his life !! lol

We have a site that we have often camped on over the years. We call it "Mouse Meadow 🐁 " due to the huge numbers of mice that were there one year. We were in a pop up camper and they were getting inside somehow. We had a little border collie with us and every day her food was eaten from her bowl and mouse droppings left behind. After we returned home one of our party discovered that they were in his car nesting.

That's what I have a pop up. I found where they were getting in so I'll foam up the spaces to seal them off !

you might want to put some steel wool in the gap and then foam as they will otherwise chew threw the foam. they were coming in around the pluming pipe in our house and the foam alone didn't stop them until I put in the steel wool.

Yeah I was just out there looking at it actually they can't get in where I thought. I did find a couple really small gaps but not anywhere they could ever get in so I foamed those gaps but otherwise it's pretty darn tight. I think the only spot they can get in is where the slide out rails come thru they do have some rubber molding but it's appears it would be almost impossible to seal that off 100 percent to allow for it to slide in and out so I may just have to seal it off with a rag or temporary deal while using the trailer then removing it to allow closing it up.

Made my first batch of char cloth and working on some jute

Finished up draw filing and sanding the barrel, and the trigger guard on Loja Man's Fowler. Did some final wood shaping. I just need to finish up filing and sanding the butt plate then De-Whisker the stock and it's ready to start sketching the carving.

I finished sizing the Fowler Ramrod for the pipes by using both scraping and sanding.

Then I did something almost totally foreign to me. Planning. I printed out a sheet listing all the pins in the Fowler in preparation to removal of the pins. Each pin will be taped to the paper in order of its placement on the gun. Also, I will note which pins still need a little trimming to be lower than the side of the wood, but just enough so I cannot touch a pin. I figure that no pins will be lost, each will be able to be replaced in its proper location on rebuilding the gun after the finish is put on it.

And so far, I am remembering that I will have to re-drill the pin holes after putting the finish on.

It's like I have told a lot of people now. If I can do this, anybody can!

The Doc is out and happier with himself now. 😊

Ha ha. My old export sales guy complained people were stealing his biscuits from his draw. They were long 18” drawers in his old but nice oak desk. After he left we cleaned out his drawer and found a nest of mice right at the back of the drawers full of bits of biscuit's. Yes True !!!

Couple of pics of the camper it's a 2007 Fleetwood E3
