All you squirrel hunting boys better put your head on a swivel. Just saw pictures of predatory, meat eating squirrels that have been discovered and observed in an area that had a strong vole population. They ambush and kill the voles and take them home for supper. Sharps the word!
I'll shoot them too.
Thanks for the heads up.
I will keep my eye out for them.👍

Yep. No more naps for me in the woods.

I’ll be shooting with a knife ready in my teeth just in case I miss. Bring ‘em on😎
Jim, remember we all had an Epic battle with them Demon Squirrels early on in this thread. It was told in detail from Snakebit. ETipp was a fighting them and we had to join forces to defeat them.
Boy that was the good Ol Days.

I have trained a bunch of Mt. Curs for squirrel and coon. Need to ck. on there mom and dad see how far they hunt, some hunt close and some far.
Thank you for the information, Laney.

If this materializes I might contact you for some advice. The only squirrel dog I ever owned was a hound. He was a natural, no training needed.

I agree with what LANEY REECE says about squirrel dogs wholeheartedly, Ed. Bloodline. Example: This is my wife's dog, although calling it "her's" angers me because I have to take care of the d@nged thing mostly. It could be called a feist, I guess, but most call it a rat terrier. Supposed to be natural squirrelers - HAH. Stupidest dog I have ever seen in my whole life. Will not come when called, and will try to bite me sometimes. Let loose off the leash it will run straight down to the middle of high traffic road and stand and sniff the pavement just waiting to get clobbered. Wont bark at strangers at the door, wont run after, or even acknowledge, squirrels when I take it to the woods, and - get this - it's scared of rabbits. When that thing passes I'm going to dance around it's grave.

Bloodline is everything in squirrel dogs, not just breed.
