made this tonight, took a hole saw, ground off the teeth, then sharpened on belt sander with 120 grit to 400 grit. then sharpened inside of drum with dremel. then polished with green and white polish.... got it pretty sharp. then I made a handle out of black walnut on my lathe. cuts perfect patches out of whatever. here is some 0.18 pillow ticking...

Nice job. I tried to make one from the hole saw. Mine wasn't to good. By the time I got the teeth ground off. I swore that I was out of the hardened metal. And down to the soft metal. And the hole saws too or three. All had a small gap at the weld joint.
I've switch to cutting square patches. A straight edge and a fabric disc cutter. Supper easy. And they shoot the same as a round cutter.
Not as nice looking as your cutter but I can always get a new sharp blade / disc. When it needs it.
I also have a cutter a neighbor made for my dad. It was turned on a lathe and heat treated. I didn't have great luck with that. Always a spot or two that didn't cut. Maybe it was my cutting block. I used end grain, smooth side. Poly cutting board. Flexible cutting board from Ikea. It now has a couple holes in it. the diameter of percussion cap tins.
So for me fast cutting square patches are my goto. On a side note. Cutting patches at the barrel are usually almost square.
I'm glad that your having good luck with that nice looking cutter.
