The rack reminds me of an old buck I hunted in Iowa one year that had huge beams, but virtually nothing but some nubs on them. He looked very old. I had named him "beams."

I ended up disposing of the meat. Not happy about it, but I’d rather not chance it. I wouldn’t have had an issue with him hanging that same amount of time with a bag of ice in him, but not the way it played out.

Bummer!!! Sorry you had to toss the meat!! Interesting antlers!! Still a nice looking deer!!
 
While the Tennessee gun opener was today, I hunt with a muzzleloader year round. And I forgot to take a pic with said muzzleloader but I did manage at least one pic of the deer. He came in around 30 minutes before sundown and gave me a broadside shot. Had to get permission to cross the property line because he literally jumped the fence and died right there. Land owner was cool, she is getting some backstrap as a thank you.
