Killed a doe this morning. 40 yard shot. Thought I’d missed her then I found just a couple of drops of blood. Walked to an old roadbed I figured she was going for and found where she got on it. Blood everywhere from that point. I only have this one pic because she died then slid off the ridge toward the lake. Pic is deceiving. There was no standing up on this ridge side! Had to sit on my butt and slide down from tree to tree to get her. I kicked her loose and she slid on down to the water. Another great day on the Tennessee deer woods!

@Hermit Tim that she will! Meat is my goal anymore. Don’t get me wrong, if a buck comes by he’ll get shot, but I ain’t holding out for antlers.

I did. Glad I had it for sure. I’d have never gotten this out of there without it.

I got a doe right before dark this afternoon. Shot her at 20 yards max. She did the ol back flip and ran down the hill maybe 15 yards. She will eat well! Now, I’m looking for daddy that I keep getting on camera. Sadly, the ol buck is nocturnal for now. He will make a mistake sooner or later.

Know how you guys feel. Had deer in my 6 acres woods all summer. Mid October they disappeared. I think the walnuts falling scared them off . Now one or two comes back for a day or two, but manly at night. I got a call from local police about a fresh road kill so I took it. Love hunting, but that was easy way to get some meat for the freezer. Now I'll go if I fell like it or have more time ,besides I'll have more time to rabbit hunt.

Was blessed with a solid six this morning. Had deer all around me and this joker rolled up solo.
