I just picked up another kibler fowler kit, this time a walnut 20 ga quick ship. I’m gonna be buying a round ball mould for it, what size are yall using? Have any of yall measured your bore diameter?

Mine likes this combo.

When I was shooting Larry Zornes barrels , true 20/guage , I shot .595 ball for patched loads and .600 for bare ball loads ... My barrels now , although called 20 ga. are really 19 gauge since the I.D. is .625 .... .600 is great for patched ball .... Order ya a bag of .600 and a bag of .595 and try them out , see what ya think of em before ya buy a mold ....

I might pick up a .595 mold with my next track order since the mold isn’t much more than a bag of round balls. I’m considering getting a very basic rear sight and dovetailing it in, I’ll have to figure out how much barrel thickness is there to work with. Have any of yall installed one on your kibler fowler?

Not on a Kibler, but on my Centermark TFc and on my Lancaster style smooth rifle, when I built a track of the wolf NWG I added a rear sight to that

@Texcl2, wait to order the ball mold and you can answer all these questions.

1. What is the diameter of the bore?
2. Will you be using it with a bare ball, atop wads, nested in tow, or patched?
3. Do you want an easy to load ball load?
4. What is your intended purpose?
5. What type of patch do you think you will be using? Cloth or paper?

Know what you have and know what you want to do with that knowledge.

The correct answer is any size that fits down the barrel #9 shot to .600 roundball all work well. Or the combination of a bunch or different sizes. (6) .390 balls, (9) .350 balls, (1) .490 and (4) .440, (3) .530 balls, The choices are endless. It all comes down to what is legal where you live and what your gun likes, and your imagination.
