The Fleet Farm store here in Wis. has all four types of CCI primers on the rack for $13. They also have caps, I forget how much they were.

Dang, went to a gun show last week end and saw primers going for 25 bucks a hundred and no percussion caps at all! Guess it's time to knap out some more flints an look for some conversion locks. Perhaps things will look better soon.
You know that we don’t live in the 1900’s anymore, right? 😜

$25!! THAT'S A DEAL!
Gun Shows here are selling CCI caps for $45-$55 per tin. And when I tell them I can buy them for $9 or $10 across town they fire back "NO YOU CAN'T" and I tell they Yes I did, I just did last week. They angry and I laugh and walk away.

Same with BP, it seldom shows up at gun shows but both here and in Idaho I see it, they want $45-$55 per pound.
I pull out my phone and calculate how much per pound if I buy 10lbs (without showing them from Where) and tell I will it for $xx a pound, THAT is the going price (usually around $28-$30 depending what brand is on their table). Again they will fire back "NOT WITH SHIPPING AND HAZMATE"...I just smile and reply Yes, With shipping and hazmat, just buy 10 or more pounds. I really laughed at the two who got angry and said "NO ONE BUYS THAT MUCH AT A TIME!!!!"

I think the one guy who comes over from California has been trying to sell the same tin of CCI for two or three years now ($45).

How much of that is because where you live and shipping to get it there?

Local gun shop has small unmentionable primers for $69 per 1000, large unmentionable primers for $99 per 1000. Add 25% or more for magnum primers.

I'm not in the market for caps so I haven't checked availability or price. I put a low ball bid on an online auction for a couple thousand caps, to say the least I was surprised I won. Since I shoot mostly flintlock that amount of caps should last my lifetime.

Mike, do you have a local dealer for caps? How the heck do you guys keep shooting?
Gun shows, Walmart and Sportsman's Warehouse. I did pick up 700 percussion caps about 2 years ago at a gun show for 12.00 $ a hundred and thought I was being robbed! Don't seem so bad any more though.
Also picked up 4 full cans of Goex for 15.00 a can and three partials for 10.00 as I remember it.

I also hit the jack pot when my third daughter gave me a call from Fairbanks about a widow that needed to get rid of some muzzle loading stuff. She just wanted it off her property and not really needing it much I offered a C note and she was over joyed so I wound up with about 8 ammo cans of assorted boxes of Hornady swaged lead balls, felt wads and several full cans of Triple 7 which I have yet to try and don't know anything about, preferring black powder.

Best deal I got was 7 guns for $550 at a garage sale. Four rifles and three revolvers. Another I hate guns these were my Dads and I want them gone. Fortunately I had cash to buy them all. Two were b.p. the rest modern.
Mighty neighborly of you to help these people out! 😎
