I had most of my flintlocks out today, just to look them over…cleaning patch down the bores…etc. I have hunting stories for each and every one of them.
What are the merits of owning a dozen $500 guns (or a half-dozen $1,000 guns) versus one $6,000 one?
The nest Japanese sword makers are considered national treasures. I have two rifles and some knives by three gentlemen who I consider national treasures. With a mild interest in Japanese swords, they are valued like we do fire arms. The condition, age, maker and finish are only a few of the criteria used to rate them. Actual wear from legitimate use or battle damage do not decrease their value. It is the same for a nice fire arm to me.
Use it and take care of it.

You actually think that anything firearm related, that you own will make a difference if that day comes? I don't.I d
I don’t know that I want to do that… might need some guns that I can actually use to effectively defend myself against a tyrannical government one day.
You must start with something. A knife for a pistol, pistol for a rifle , rifle for a gunship! You actually think that anything firearm related, that you own will make a difference if that day comes? I don't.
Vietnam and Afghanistan outlasted us using stone age tech. All we need to do it to shoot the SOB who has a better weapon than we have, and take it. Or wait for Biden to give it to you. Even the cheap single shot Liberty pistols of WW2 had their place, if only for moral support. You actually think that anything firearm related, that you own will make a difference if that day comes? I don't.
