    Last Turkey,

Here is the end of my 2013 Turkey Season. Turkey Number THREE! One in Kentucky and Two here in Ontario. He isn't the biggest bird in the woods, but with only two days left (yesterday) he looked like a monster in full strut. He isn't the prettiest either as he is soaking wet after two days of...

    BP and turkeys..Oh Boy!

I was thinking about this thread even before I logged on today. I wondered if some people are shy to share their adventures because they look at it as bragging. I would hope not. I look at it as sharing or even celebrating. What better place then with a bunch of men that can truly appreciated...

    BP and turkeys..Oh Boy!

A bear with dogs and a flintlock would be a crazy adventure. Having run black and tan coon hounds for years as well as fox/coyote hounds. I would love to go on a bear chase with hounds OR better yet a cougar hunt with hounds and flintlock.

    22 lbs 9 inch beard.

Once again, it proves that being stubborn can be a good thing. It also proves once again, that there are more turkeys in the woods than in your living room. Many times I have tasted success because I was too stubborn to quit or too stubborn to go home. Congratulations for sticking with it and...

    Turkey AGAIN

I know exactly what you mean. The first thing that goes through your mind is,"What is wrong with these birds, are they crazy?" One other time I had a hen spend some time pecking at my decoy and I thought that was cool. During that hunt. I had my brother with me that is from NewBrunswick and...

    Turkey AGAIN

Now that I am back in Ontario I get to start turkey season all over again. We run until May 31 with a two bird limit. This was one of Four Jakes that came to the call this afternoon. I shot the lead Jake and then the other three decided he no longer looked that tough and they all ganged up on...

My Don Stith/John Bergmann J&S Hawken Arrived Today

I have two guns built by John Bergmann. Both guns are a treasure to me and I must say that John is a great guy to work with. He will build the gun of your dreams for what I think is a very reasonable price. PJC

    Basket weave horn

Looking past the basket weave, The horn itself looks like it was a pretty nice piece to work with. Having seen a mountain of horns, I can appreciate that they are not all suitable to work with. The horn is excellent and the basket weave pushes it over the top. One of the nicest I have seen. PJC

    Kentucky Devil Bird

I have given the gun information before and did not want to bore people with the details again. but for those interested. It is a Isaac Haines, Smoothbore rifle, as it has a rear sight. 38 inch colerain barrel. The turkey was shot at 30 yards with 90gr of FFFg and equal amount or 1.5 oz of...

    Kentucky Devil Bird

I shot the bird late in the afternoon and the sun, while not setting was at a great angle to capture the magic of the turkey feathers that make them such a special bird.
