    Techniques for caps on revolvers?

Got out to the range yesterday with the Remington. Four cylinders with no cap issues. Used CCI #10s, and pinched for fit. None fell off, or failed to ignite. Guess I found the right answer for this revolver. Thanks to all for your help.

Starr DA revolver reproduction - action unreliable

I'm not sure why the manufacturer wouldn't seek to improve the hidden clockwork of a known problematic design. In any case, the vendor agreed to a return/refund, so it is going back. :surrender:

Certainly true. No blood spilled, and all the little piggies came home. A few years back, I was in a serious surplus 'com-block' phase. I acquired a Polish PPS-43. An open-bolt SMG design, converted to a closed bolt semi-auto pistol in 7.62x25mm. Had an out-of-battery detonation which...

Hey Crocket. The cap was detonated, stuck to the nipple. It received a second strike when it aligned to the barrel.

Starr DA revolver reproduction - action unreliable

Interesting. The dimensions must be darn close, as there seems to be no discernable pattern to the failures. Thanks for the additional possible path.

Thanks for the additional thoughts. They are indeed the shorter revolver nipples. And indeed upon examination, the cylinder appears to be set back some. I think I have the answer. Thanks to all for the education. I appreciate you taking the time to help.

Thank you, gentlemen, for the additional feedback. Indeed, the intent on the filler was provide compression and to end up with the ball closer to the forcing cone. The chambers can accommodate a lot of powder.

    Flash in the pan

Thank you, gentlemen. It is an Elliot pattern dragoon pistol, Indian manufacture. I know, derision will be heaped upon me. I bought it for display, but thought I would give it a try. After charging with powder and patch/ball, I could not see powder in the chamber through the flash hole from...
