thanks for the reminder on the loaded part did that when i bought it at the gun show and it was loaded the dealer had no idea it was and also did not know how to check to see if it was loaded or not now he knows and said that he will check any muzzle loader he gets to ensure it is not loaded...- t-buck

well that is the problem who ever the idiot was that designed these things did not have the sense to have any way to put a wrench on them all that sticks out is the threaded part that the cap that holds the pistol primer in screws on to i tried using some pliers that i cushioned the jaws with...- t-buck

hello newarcher blow back is when the hammer is blown back past the full cock position by over pressure from a shot fired when you drill out a nipple the over sized hole will allow more pressure to escape thru it to the hammer , venting is another term, this can cause cause enough force on the...- t-buck

this may be the answer and help to problem one i do not know how you cleaned the bore after the last shooting session you had before this one but if you did not do a through job of cleaning and after cleaning use some type of rust preventive in the barrel , rust build up may be the cause of you...- t-buck

.32 Caliber CVA Squirrel Rifle
