    Uberti 1858 trigger too light?

Interesting fix, relationship of the two fingers of the spring: Found that reducing the tension by reshaping bolt side spring finger then tighting screw down all the way, increased trigger pull to 2.5 lbs.. Tension on bolt side has to be enough to keep bolt from bouncing out under recoil. It...

    Anti-chamber Blue Ridge Rifle

I may need all the ignition help I can get. As planning on using some long stored Goex Clearshot for the main charge. I have about 6 lbs. of it left from early 2000's, stored in shut off refrigerator at a very constant temperature. Has ignited and done well in all my caplocks so far. My Idaho...

    Anti-chamber Blue Ridge Rifle

If the jag cannot get into the patent breech, how can it pull fouling out? I found junk in the patent breech of one of my rifles even after hot water flush. And, I always clean after shooting. I used small diameter nylon brush spun with patches on it to clean it completely out until bore scope...

    Anti-chamber Blue Ridge Rifle

I realize the BP problem, have 3 Hawkens, and patent breech scrapers for them. However, it looks like metal in the photo? If it is only .190 that is pretty small, and require a secondary cleaning rod tip of some kind to clean it out. The after photo appears much bigger then .190 IMHO as if...

    Anti-chamber Blue Ridge Rifle

Also from another forum: "The patent breech on my Pedersoli Blue Ridge rifle set the main charge 1/2" forward from the vent and there was a very narrow 0.19" diameter flue running from the vent to the main charge 1/2" away. This was a promised ignition problem. First, cleaning that 0.19" flue...

Look at photos on 24 hr. campfire, pictures worth a thousand words. Google: 24 hr. campfire Blue Ridge breech plug.

    Anti-chamber Blue Ridge Rifle

Could not resist Cabela's current sale price on Blue Ridge and $ 20 rebate. Ordered a .50 cal. But, I'm concerned about the reports and photos of patent chamber problem. How hard is it to remove breech plug after taking vent liner out? Do threads get wrecked? Could a threaded drill bit be...

    Mag-spark

Thanks for info, looks like Mag-Spark will work fine for my use.. Heavier spring may give faster lock time if it does not cause damage to firing pin or hammer. Have to watch it, and have ordered extra firing pin and top for Mag-Spark and an extra Hawken spring from TOTW. Firing pin indenting...

Don't use pellets, but very interested in using Blackhorn 209 powder..

    Mag-spark

It is not an inline. It was a magnum sidelock made for 150 grain loads or 3 pellets. Was it a pain because of having to unscrew to load new primer? And did you notice any peening of the firing pin or hammer face?

    Mag-spark

All my attempts to find Musket caps for sale have led nowhere. I have ordered a 1/4" x 28 Mag-Spark, that fires 209 primers, to fit my TC .50 Black Mountain Magnum. I'm reading that it will ignite Blackhorn 209 powder without problems. My only concern is the heavier hammer spring that seems to...

    caps available

FYI I ordered some and checking the date code on box with Remington, these were made between 1994 and 1996, and seem to be a little larger inside then CCI#11 I'm used to. Called 3rd Gen on it, they claim to not know manufacture date??? And too long to work in cash capper they jam in it.

Have feeling it is trigger/bolt spring problem, too heavy on bolt side, too light on trigger side.. Will talk with Taylor and Co. Smith..

    Uberti 1858 trigger too light?

As a hunting companion, drawn in haste, perhaps with gloves on,.........1.5# ??? My target 1911's are there, but range guns only..Carrying a SA with such a trigger does not bother me enough to leave it at home. Although cocking any pistol or revolver with my finger outside trigger guard is my...

    Uberti 1858 trigger too light?

If I tighten T/B screw all the way in the tension on bolt is at least 3 times that of any of my other revolvers, single or double action..it was 1/2 turn out from full tight from factory, and still has a little bit more tension then my other revolvers. I do not think it is going to jump out of...

    Uberti 1858 trigger too light?

I know my part names, brand new gun, so worn sear, hammer not in my thinking, If trigger/Bolt spring screw tightened all the way just makes bolt make deeper gouges in cylinder, has I said. It was not tightened all the way from factory, so appeared to me as some kind of adjustment. Polished bolt...

    Uberti 1858 trigger too light?

I've seen all the complaints about too heavy triggers on 1858, my new one from Uberti has 1.5 lb. trigger pull. tightening trigger/bolt spring screw does little but increase bolt tension against cylinder...And running main spring screw in did not change it either. I suppose I could take T/M...
