    Flint comes loose in hammer

I have a Jim Kibler long rifle. It has a Late Ketland lock from Sisters Company. The flint sets in the hammer with a piece of leather. When I tighten the top screw down, it will work it's way loose after about 7-8 shots. Is it common that the top screw comes loose? The gun only has around 100...

    Pan priming

I did not know about voiding the warrenty. What do you think the problem was with that flint? I will shoot this English flint for another 50 shots, and change back to the amber flint. Maybe it was installed wrong by me. I will keep playing and learning as I go. You guys are always a lot of...

I use 3f for my main charge, and 4f for the prime. I was getting miss fires with the original flint that came with the gun. (Jim Kibler Southern Mountain Rifle). I purchased some English flint from Buffalo Arms. These flint are working great with no miss fires. I believe now I am going to change...

    Hard Case for Flintlock

I need to travel by air to some hunt spots. Anyone know if there are some hard cases that are at least 62 inches long inside. I would prefer not to take the gun apart. Anyone traveling with their long rifles? Kirk

Thoughts on a .45 caliber Kentucky for deer hunting

I have been purchasing supplies from Buffalo Arms. The owner Dave has been a lot of help. Their website is very easy to navigate. I find track of the wolf a harder website to get around. Kirk

    Cleaning Muzzle loader?

For the California guys, order these items (Barricade) through Amazon. These vendors with an Amazon store never pay attention to the rules of other states. They just ship the stuff everytime. That is their way of giving California the middle finger :blah:

    Jim Kibler Flintlock Rifle

Went out and shot today. This Kibler flintlock shot great. Extremely accurate out to 50 yds. Groups were 2 inches shooting free hand. Next week plan on shooting from a bench to see how it groups at 100yds. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XAyaKuYiYBQ

    Ordered a longrifle from Kibler

Exactly, If the shot is not double lung, that bear will walk out of the country. I have seen good men, shoot good broad heads, at good bears, but not double lung them, it is just a mess. I was once told by a wise man "It is not the kayak; it is the Eskimo" :rotf:

    Ordered a longrifle from Kibler

So Jim Kibler has just started offering a .45 cal. I started hunting Southeast Alaska in 1984. I hunt there 2-3 times per year. I have taken just over 20 Black Bears with a bow since 1984. Among the group of guys I hunt with we have taken over 70 bears in Alaska. I will hunt over bait so I...

    Ordered a longrifle from Kibler

I ordered a longrifle kit from Jim Kibler today. Jim said I could expect to receive it sometime around August. I did ask him about ordering one of his custom made rifles, and he said he was a little more than 3 years out. At this time he is not taking any more custom orders. I told him I would...
