    Age of TC Renegade kit

I just picked up a left handed, cap lock, with set trigger, 54 cal renegade kit at a sporting shop. Looks like it was there for a long time. Does anyone know when this was made. I couldnt pass it up for 220 dollars.

Cabela's Hawkens and Lyman 57 SML

You are correct. I own both rifles, the lyman trade and the cabelas and they are basically the same rifle with minor differences. I also own a dixie gun works hawkens and it is identical to the cabelas.

    T/C Hawken or GPR

Just as a side note, that 32 drop in barrel makes the gpr weigh a ton. I have a left handed 32 drop in barrel for my trade gun and its heavy as well.

    Shot new Lyman GPR Today

I really like my TC New Englander, they can be bought reasonably on gunbroker or other similar sights. Mine has the screw in chokes and its deadly on turkeys with the Primos tightwad choke. Its also fun rabbit huting with it. You can also get a drop in barrel for it from the TC custom shop.

    T/C Left Handed Flint Rifle

Dixie Gun Works carries a L/H hawkin flint in both kit (290) and assembled (325). It is made by investarms, so its basically a Lyman. In fact, its a Lyman trade but with lots of brass and double set triggers, 50 cal only I believe. I have had one for several years and its a good rifle.

    TVM

Another thumbs up for Matt and Toni. Just received my fowler and it looks great and shoots the same. You cant go wrong with these folks, I am about to order an iron lancaster from them.

I think 32 cal barrels are available for the deerstalker from rmcsports.com, i bought one for my trade rifle and think they take the same barrel.both left and right handed.

    Great Plains Hunter vs. Deerstalker

I am left handed as well and always on the search for left handed rifles. The problem is I have too many cap locks now. I was at a ml shop in mingoville, Pa yesterday and they had a kit, left handed TC renegade in 54 cal for 225.00. PM me if you want the details. I have no affiliation with the shop.

    N.E. Barrell

I do exactly as T/C recommends. I use two wonderwads over the powder, shot and a wonderwad over the shot. Works fine for me and patterns nicely. I buy mine from rmcsports.com, just look under their blackpowder shotgun accessories. They are lubed with wonderlube 1000. I can even get these down my...

    shot for smoothbores

Any decent size sporting good store will most likely have shot in bulk in various size. Here in very rural Tioga County Pa we have three places that carry it.

    Lefties???

As mentioned Lyman makes the great plains and the deerstalker in left handed, both flint and percussion. Dixie gun works carrtys their hawkens that is really a lyman trade rifle with brass adornment. traditions makes several left handed in both flint and percussion.

    New rifle on the way...

I have the GPR in both percussion and flint, both left handed models. They are great rifles and not only shoot the roundballs well, the small conicals work great. I use both the 245 grain buffalo ball- et and the Hornady great plains. Jethro you mentioned a 32 or 40 barrel. I bought a 32 barrel...

Using Felt Wads For 12 Guage

New to BP shotguns but the Ox-yoke wads is what I use because my new englander has the choke tubes as well. The manual told me to put two over the powder and one over the shot and seems to work fine. I think RMC bought out ox-yoke and i get mine from them at rmcsports.com
