    New gun

The German agates work great in my GPR and Lyman Trade gun. Have tried other rocks but find the German agates most reliable. Also like the touch hole from rmcsports.com, its coned both inside and out.

I have both the GPR in flint and percussion, they both shoot great. I have had no lock problem as mentioned in this thread. CCI Percussion Caps

I have had misfires with CCI caps, and a lot of them. I use them strictly for target shooting now. On the other hand, the CCI magnums are the best, have never had a misfire using them and I have used hundreds of them. I wouldnt use Remingtons, put them in the same catagory as the standard CCI...

    Lyman barrel change

The key here is left handed. The TOW barrels are not made for left handed. I also suffer from being L/H in a R/H world. Have managed to acquire a left handed barrel for my lyman trade in 32 cal, flint.

    T/C hawkins capping problem, help

Thats the way my new englander is as well as my gpr. only my traditions hawken allows enough clearance at half cock to cap.

    GPR .50 and .54 interchangeable?

I have the 32 barrel for my trade rifle and it is considerably heavier than the 50 barrel. I think with my gprs it would be even more so. But Im left handed and finding a 32 barrel in left handed flint was not easy, so for tree rats I put up with the weight.

    Lyman Touch Hole liners?

As rebel said they are metric. Also mentioned by rebel, rmcsports.com has the coned touch holes. I have them installed in all my lymans and they work great.

I have the Dixie Gun Works Hawkin which is the investarms hawkin. I purchased a 32 barrel for it. Makes it a tad heavy but for tree rats its a lot f fun.

    Lyman vs. Traditions .

have you tried the touch hole liner that rmc sells for the deerstalker. its coned and makes all the difference. I second that on the vpeep, have put them on all my lymans.

    Lyman vs. Traditions .

midsouthshooterssupply.com has very good prices and they are top good to deal with.

    Lyman vs. Traditions .

Buy the deerstalker. I have had both and still have the deerstalker. It seems Lyman is one of the few companies that offer their line in left handed versions. I own two gprs, the trade rifle and the deerstalker, all left handed.
