    New kit coming

    Just got done test firing the fusil fin that two shadows sent me. He is right he did place the touchhole high. But let me tell you it was fast. I thought i was shooting a percussion. I was impressed I belive it is faster than the small siler I have on my custom J.P.Beck.

    Need help with .28 ga loads.

    Any suggestions on effective 28 ga loads for ruffed grouse. Is equal an equal measure of powder to shot the norm? What does a 80 grain measure of 2f equal to in ounces of shot? Thats what i have been using in my 12 ga fowler. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Growing up in northern maine in a guiding family. I have had the chance to harvest numerous black bear (12). With everything from a jeep to a flintlock. I agree that bear at least in Maine tend to be about as tough as a deer. Most shots in this part of the country tend to be short 50 yds or less...

    Now that i have B.HAbermehl's 12 ga I use a .690 roundball and a piece of blue jeans for a patch. The lead B.J gave me was to hard to load I kept hitting myself in the head with the ram rod. He thought it was funny. I thought it hurt. :cry:

    I agree you dont need a big knife. I have dressed many deer on the side of the road with a pocket knife. Same with moose. smaller knives are easy to control.
