    lube opinions

    I have used wonder lube , and it does get real stiff when its cold out . Now I just make my own lube ( moose snot ) it works real good for me , and wiff mink oil from totw , its good to , it dont freeze and get stiff from the cold.

    heres what I use , I use 20 grains of fffg , .310 round ball , .015 patch , I have mine sighted in at 30 yards and can put all shots wiff in a inch or less.

    totw bag moulds

    I have one of them bag molds also , and heres what I do , I put them in a tumbler wiff out media , for a hour to hour and a half , dat gets rid of the casting line form the mold :thumbsup:

    good day target shooting

    The green mountain barrel cleans easy , I use the hot water and dawn dish soap , then a rinse wiff hot water , wipe down barrel wiff patchs until dry and swaped the barrel wiff patch lube , I been doing diss cleaning for years and havnt had no rust at all .

    Percussion Caps

    I used both cci caps but I like the magnums better, they throw a hotter flame , and also I use spitfire nipples , since I changed to them I have no miss fires or hang fires .

    on the bag mold , it leaves a little ring in the center of the ball all the way around , its from the mold where is split when u open it , you can barey see it but u can feel it wiff your finger nail , i took a set of dail calpers and measured it , and measured a hornady round ball , the horndy...

    I never have used mink oil , but I read diss post and got thinking , what about the mink oil you can get at walmart for your shoes, would dat work ? , and probly its a lot cheaper to .

There are good , the bag mold dont make a perfect round ball , its .003 to .005 of an inch smaller compaired to hornady round balls, but in my tc hawken useing a green mountain barrel 1 in 70 twist , 90 grains of powder ...

    Which states have a sidelock hunting season?

    here in kansas , we have a special primitve muzzle loader hunt. It starts the same time as bow, think its oct 1 and also u can use a muzzle loader in regular firearm season , u can use any muzzle loader inline or caplock , scope or iron sights . only black powder or subitute ( 777 or prodex )...

    777 powder

    I use 777 in my caplocks and had no problems at all , no crude ring etc . The only thing is you reduce your load by 20% like if you shoot 90 grains wiff black or pyrodex , wiff 777 it would be 70 grains . I shot a few cans of 777 and I like it , its easy to clean up . I coundnt see any...

    tomahawk handle is loose

    i got a tomahawk bought it last year , and now the handle is lose , tried soaking the handle in water for a few days , dat was a quick fix , but lasted 3 days and handle can loose again , what do all of ya use to soak your tomahawk handles so they stay on tight .

    hello , I,m new to the forum , but I been shooting muzzle loaders for years and I have a traditions deer hunter in 32 cal , 24 inch barrel , 1-48 twist , I use 20 grains of fffg and .015 lubed patch , 310 ball. I get quarter size groups at 30 yards , she's a tack driver.
