    New stock on T/C Hawken

Quite impressive work, Goldhunter!...A very nice upgrade from the stock T/C. I agree with Plink...I would like to upgrade a left-hand Lyman GPR to a nicely grained Curly Maple. I see Pecatonica offers the Hawken half-stock in left hand. I wonder what the fitment would be on the Lyman?

    GPR lock

Lyman says that the color case hardened lock on the GPR is authentic...Is that true? It seems that the locks that I’ve seen in other lock pics are not case hardened. A little expertise please.

Anybody seen English Gentleman's Sporting Rifle?

I gather that the Chambers kits are not for the beginner?

    LEFT HANDED Harpers Ferry

If it wasnt for a cheek rest on many of the muzzleloaders, the rifle is pretty generic. The lock itself isn't any more a problem for a lefthander than a righthander, IMO.

    LEFT HANDED Harpers Ferry

This could be taken either way, but I certainly don't have that expertise. The ML folks in my corner of the Hinterlands don't seem to be bothered by the ubiquitous left-handed long gun at their events.

    LEFT HANDED Harpers Ferry

This is taken from North West's website (click on Chief's Grade Gun)...FWIW

    PUTRIFIED KNIFE HANDLE

Actually!...If you add Vodka to the tomato juice, It's quite effective. Errr..oh yeah...we're talkin' bout knife handles, aren't we!...Nevermind... :winking:

    Dropped by Bookies Shop tonight!

Thanks Bookie!...After re-checking your website, the information on the halfstocks was right there. I may have to make a pilgrimage North, and visit your shop. Been about 20 years since I felt the blast of a Forge! :hatsoff:

I didn't feel jumped on, KR...All is cool! :hatsoff:

    Dropped by Bookies Shop tonight!

I've spent a goodly amount of time this morning looking over Bookie's website, and I must say that it is one of the more entertaining and informative sites that I've read. However”¦As a relative novice with all things blackpowder, can someone explain to me (Bookie?) the Iowa/Missouri half-stock...

    GPR Kit Question

I agree with you economically Rebel, but you can't always put a price on the satisfaction one gets from an accomplishment. If kit-building is your bag, you'll need to get the tools and such eventually.

OH my GAWD i dID iT

Indeed!...Each state or township can set regulations as long as they don't run afoul of the 2nd. Amendment. San Francisco found this out...again! As restrictive as California is for instance, it still doesn't violate the basic tenant. There laws just establish what arms you may bear...

    LEFT HANDED Harpers Ferry

I agree with you, KR!...I was speaking mainly about non-martial arms. :winking:

Lookie at what I got! Questions!

Although I'm new here myself Wind, let me add my sincere welcome! :hatsoff:

    GPR barrels

Thanks PC...I knew they made the guns, but I thought they might have out-sourced the barrels.

Who is your favorite black powder maker

Graf & Sons is about 67 miles NE of me. It will be worth the drive up for powder supplies and such.
  19. S

    GPR barrels

I realize that the GPR is imported from Italy, but who makes the barrels for them? Thanks.

OH my GAWD i dID iT

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE) by definition don't consider a muzzleloader a gun. It is a gun only if it's capable of firing a modern (self-contained) cartridge.
