    I know CVA's old style of is a hook where as a newer CVA gun I have is more like and octagon button. You can buy CVA tangs on ebay for $18 maybe you could make one of those fit your stock?

    Just a thought how about putting the drum on the lock itself not the barrel so that when you put on the caplock the flash hole liner stays in? Or would this possibly give blow back right into the shooters face?

    Re-stocking A CVA

    Thank you everyone for the comments. I like Ohio ramrod's idea of using popular and just cutting out pieces and gluing new pieces back in when I mess up. Then after I get a bit of practice doing that I could go on and do the maple stock.

    We were using black powder. It is a single trigger. I did notice the lock seems to have a place for the fly and bridle. Did CVA leave those off since they were not needed or did someone lose them over the years? Thanks for the help guys.
