    Tried something new, today

Come to think of it, this old mountain man dude I know who camps in a teepee swears by 2f in everything, is there anything to this?

    Tried something new, today

I keep trying to talk myself into trying some 2f. Are you saying that as a rule 2f is more accurate than 3f regardless of brand? I have been using 3f goex for a long time. It works great in rifles but my pistola could be improved. :hmm:

    WD-40 in revolvers

The only thing I have found when using WD40 on guns is that it seems to take the bluing off. I haul all my tools in a service truck and rust is my worst enemy, I find WD40 is a good cleaner but doesn't seem to prevent rust..

    Conicals in a Plains Pistol

Based on what I have read here in these forums I would be fearful of a cracked stock. I personally I tried a couple 245 grain Buffalo Bullets and cracked the stock on my Kentucky Pistol. The recoil was considerable. Based on what I have learned, mostly here, I would suggest going to a 54 cal. I...

    Add One More Traditonal M/L'er

I almost feel like my life as I knew it ended when my boy quit shooting with me, we had the best of times, now he is old and works all the time. He could and this is no BS(Ox Dung) shoot a beer can at 75 yards with a Hawkin Woodsman, 50 cal ball, hit most every shot. I can't even see that far.

    What kind of muzzleloader

My favorite are... My big Hawkin, 1 inch across the flats, 34 and 1/4" barrel and a one in sixtysix twist, 50 cal. With a crucifix(From my daughter) and Luke 22:36 on a gold coin(From my son) and a fancy thing made by my lady to carry it in. Wished I could do Pictures, its just to big to fit...

    kentucky pistol

Never heard of him, sounds like a nice shooter. I am not real big on flintlocks, is there a great deal of variation in quality in flintlocks? I know in a caplock it's not rocket science to make one work good. Refering to the lock.

    Beware Traditions

Sorry to hear you got a bad deal. I avoid getting into brand slamming and such. I agree, Traditions needs to work on quality control and customer support.

    Pre-Lubing w/Bore Butter

Well I guess I will put my 2 cents in, I rip my patch cloth into 1 1/4 wide strips about 30 inch's long. I lay the stip out on the table, I then take a tube of Bore Butter and squeeze out a long line all along the strip of cloth. I then take my finger and stroke the cloth and work the lube into...

    Traditions Kentucky Pistol

    Traditions Kentucky Pistol

I just built one myself, It took 6 weeks, but you can do it in an evening. Do you have instructions?, they are available at the Traditions web site. :yakyak: May I suggest, leave blueing and stain and oil to the last. Make sure all the parts fit good and be SLOW doing it. Fit the barrel to the...

    Nice Weather

Man it was nice weather today, I got up and said "No snow, no work, I go shootin!" I got ready to go and went back and got one more gun, I wasted 60 caps today, I am still hacking over the smoke, The worst day of shoting is better than the best day of working. :yakyak:
