Patch cutter

Thanks for the diameters. As the punches increase in price dramatically beyond 1-inch, I might just use squares and cut them with the patch knife. BBurg

    Patch cutter

What are the appropriate diameters for 0.5 and 0.620 patches? BBurg

    Lyman lock bolt

Yep. Just the single bolt. I don't care for the lock, but it's the one that came with the rifle. The main spring is a coil spring rather than a v-spring. I went ahead and got a spare wedge, the bolt and the bolt bushing -- the latter I lost cleaning, too. The wedge, I am sure to lose soon. BBurg

    Lyman lock bolt

This is a big never mind -- I googled and got their replacement parts page. For future refernce: http://www.lymanproducts.com/store/page155.html

    Lyman lock bolt

Hello, I was cleaning my GPR and lost my lock bolt. Does someone have the time to measure the length and treads on their's? BBurg

    Dixon's gunmakers' fair

I have a lot of friends from Northern Virgina and I have visited up there, but it's too crowded for me. The New River Valley is much nicer, even if I'm not living there now. I'd like to see some pictures of your Marshall as it progresses -- One of my favorites.

    Tulle Kit has arrived.

I don't have any demands for pictures that you didn't post -- you've done a good job. The stock is cherry? How much skill did you have before you started and what kind of prepartation did you do?

    Tulle Kit has arrived.

Airborne, Where did you get the kit from. The Tulle is one of the two that I am interested in making. I look forward to your updates. Eagerly.

    Dixon's gunmakers' fair

Virginia, thanks for your comment and, may I say for all of us, welcome to the forum. BTW Where are you from? I am originally from Blacksburg (unfortunately born in Charlottesville to a bunch of Wahoos).

guy who was building shop equipment

Wulf, if you comment was to me, I am greatful for any and all assistance that I get from the people on the board, but I was mainly interested in getting rootnuke's images (that he kept on his webpage). He essentially set up his shop as he was building a rifle and the tutorial pictures were...

    GPR breechplug

I am not the original owner. The plug might have been modified -- I posted because I was shocked at how deep it was.

    Tip Curtis's Shop

Thanks all for the info -- noob and all. I am working on exploring outside of the county. I took my car outside of the county this week -- third time in 18 months. Anyway, it sounds like something ideal for someone (me) who wants to explore the styles that he wants to build. In the absence of...

    TOW poser jaeger rifle

That is one of the most beautiful rifles that I have ever seen. The only way that I would think about firing it (if I was lucky enough to own it) is if I was Bill Gates or Walmart heir wealthy. Even a kit to build one costs so much that I'll probably keep on shooting my $250 second-hand GPR...

    Tip Curtis's Shop

Could someone tell a noob (me) about Tip Curtis and his shop? It is within a half-days drive. Eric where in Dixie are you? I am in Tuscaloosa. BBurg

    GPR breechplug

Well, the ball was sure stuck in the plug. I had to melt the lead out on the kitchen stove. It seemed to extend at least a centimeter into the plug; certainly deep enough to fit a 0.490 ball. I could swear that I hadn't dryballed, but I am starting to have senior moments (in my 40's) BBurg

    GPR breechplug

I was shooting over the weekend and couldn't get ignition worth a dang -- which is surprising as the last couple of occasions I was shooting 7 first strikes per 8 shots. So, I decided to pull the ball, which I couldn't -- between the screw puller and the normal tip, I smashed to ball into the...

    Dixon's gunmakers' fair

Guys, I have put in for annual leave for the period, so I am nearly committed. Are there any recommendations for hotels (nearby, reasonable price) -- I am a wuss and would prefer A/C, cold box, and shower. I know that folks from Chambers and Pecatonic are going to be there -- do they usually...

guy who was building shop equipment

I went to the wayback machine to check his website. All of the text is there, but the WBM didn't/doesn't save the images. Sigh. http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://rootnuke.com

guy who was building shop equipment

THAT"S THE GUY!!! Thanks BBurg IIRC The pictures were on his website which is no 404. Sigh. I'll check the google cache.

    Dixon's gunmakers' fair

I came across the schedule for the Dixon's gunmakers' fair at the end of July. It is a 14-hour drive, so I was wondering if someone who had been to a previous fair could recommend it. Personal experiences and feedback, appreciated and PM me if you wish. For others, I have posted the link to...
