1860m Pietta Old Army shooting to the left.

Yea , the smoke is a modern evil fer me, a chew of home made twist would likely be more authentic, I stopped smoking them cursed things in the late 80's and picked them back up after nearly 12 years!!!!! I never claimed to be the sharpest tack in the box

    Granulation

I use 3f Goex in all of my arms from .36 cal. pistols to .62 cal. foozles. Little higher pressures, cleaner burn. As a rule of thumb...reduce charges in large bore rifles & smoothies .50 cal. & up by 10% to achieve same vel. as 2f

    Brass powder flask?

It looks to me as if it's a Zoauve Peace flask. You can buy new for $25.00 or so. Was it used by cavalry, I reckon so, the original flask was meant to use for rifles, as opposed to the smaller colt and remington flasks issued with pistols. IMHO I would think mounted units esp. confederate would...

    An intoductory revolver

I own a 58 Remington police in .36.cal.IMHO it's heavy, and handles like a rock, clumsey.I have small hands and the Colt navies and Spiller and Burr feel as if they were molded to my hand.

    An intoductory revolver

My friend.... I am a huge fan of C&B pistols. My favorite and most accurate is a Spiller and Burr made by Pietta and sold by DGW.Colt Navies are good handleing pieces as well. I prefer .36 cal. With that said......I would SERIOUSLY reconsider useing a C&B pistol for self defence, while they can...

    Disassembly instructions....

My friend, I bought a book " Percussion Pistols and Revolvers History, Performance and Practical use"by authors Johnny Bates, and Mike Cumpston from Amazon.com. It goes into detail of assembly and dissassembly of pistols. With that being said, Colts have only 5 or so moving parts in side...

P/H 1861 Enfield Musketoon - Minie Loads Help.

The "typical" service charge for a rifled musket was 60 gr. of 3f, some shooters will charge with only 45 or so gr. of powder. The lube I use is a mixture of beeswax and shortening/ lard. Use enough wax to keep it stiff, or it will tend to melt of the ball.Fill the base too, if the minie is not...

1860 and 1862 snubby do you have one

I have an 1860 that started life as a full sized pistol, I lopped the barrel of to about 2", no front sight, a "last ditch" pistol if you will. 20 gr. 3f,wad, &.451 round ball, it would take the fight out of a Yank at 5-10 yards.
