    Enough for deer?

    It sounds like enough to me . I've killed a lot of deer with 50 gr. in my 50 cal. Not really how hot a load but where you place ball . What load do you get best group .

    Does anybody know the average length of powder horns in the 1700's. Does it depend on the region or area. Were most horns local or import?

    No Spark?

    I had a russ hamm lock that woundn't spark good. Kasenit worked very good for me. :thumbsup:

    The last pouch I made I put sheith on back and makes it more handy. Buy putting wax on leath I would think darking would be problem .

    New to flintlocks... another caliber question

    I built a Issac Haines in a 54 cal. Shot a 50 cal. for years [ 30 years ] couldn't believe the difference in the 54. The entery and exit holes where entirely whereth it .The 50 just sits in the corner.

    cider stain

    I put 2 3in. strips of old rusty barb wire in jar with 1 cup of cider viniger. Lid is loose stir every couple of days . Till stop seeing bubbles . Brew is done [4 to 6 weeks].

    Was it just me or did it seem like the Indians in this period was depending on white man to much? Starving and such. I thought it made Washington seem pretty greedy going west and trying to claim Indiana.

    I ordered a Issac Haines kit from them this last spring. Got it within 10 days {all parts}. Yes they were out of stock I ordered , but they up grated. I was very pleased with there product. Yes if I had to do it again I would. My opinion.

    Trying to make parched corn, failing miserably

    We use to throw a handful in the pan with popcorn. Made for a nice treat at the bottom of the bowl. Just had to fight everybody for the bowl.

    Black powder secrets revealed...

    Sorry to say I still catch myself blowing down barrel from time to time. Been shooting BP sense 1972 was taught that way. Old habits are hard to break.
