    Cotton cord?

    I want to make my own tinder tubes and need the most important component, the cotton rope or cord. Any sources? I've checked every hardware store around here and I can only find cotton with a synthetic core. 100% cotton rope or cord is tough to find in 7/32" or 1/4" diameter...

    How much of a "purist" are you when it comes to making your own gear? Do you use only traditional tools and methods, with nothing "modern" ever coming into contact with your project? Or, do you use whatever modern power tools happen to be convenient? Or, are you somewhere in bewteen these two...
