1858 New Army Target .44 Caliber Revolver

I have one and I use 35grs. of Goex 3f and the same load of 3f triple 7 for hunting sidearm. It gets the job done and is quite accurate. My favorite is the Caseharden fram 1858 remmy with the gunfighter grips, smooh action and good shooter. I have R and D 45lc cyclinders for all 8 of my revolvers.

1860 and 1862 snubby do you have one

I think with a load of 30 gr. of 3f 777, it would be a fight stopper. I would like to have some matching grips that I could get that fit right out of the box for my 1860's does anyone know of some place to get them from.

1860 and 1862 snubby do you have one

I have two 1860 snubnosed revolvers and one 1862 snubnosed revolver, has any body shot theirs and what powder charger did you use. I've been using in my 1860 30 gr. of 3f 777 and in 1862 25 grs. The 1860 kicks pretty good and I can hit the bottom part of my target at 25 yd. The 1862 I can hit...

Its loaded by a brass rode that goes through the hole that the loading lever use to be. I also have a loading device that I use for loading at the range. 1860 snubby at the range

I shot my 1860 snubby from cableas and was very pleased with its proformance. I had 2 inch. groups at 10 yards. I also could hit the 25 yard target but it hit real low. I brought it up some with 35 gr. of 3f T777 and it kicked pretty good with that load. All and all the gun is real good close in...

R&D cyclinder that 45LC don't fit in all the way.

I end up getting a new cyclinder from midway and it wouldn't take the winchester cowboy ammo, so i bought some UltraMax cowboy ammo and it seems to work. The old Pietta vs Uberti thing is funny because I have 5 Pietta remmy's and the r $ d cyclinder works in all of them but the Uberti remmy seem...

R&D cyclinder that 45LC don't fit in all the way.

The cyclinder fits with bullets in it but when loaded the top does not set flush like it does when not loaded. It looks like the bullets won't go all the way down the holes. I sent it back to MidWayUSA and i'll be shooting this gun cap and ball for now. I like 30grs of 3 T777 and bufflo bullets...

Cap And Ball Revolvers For Personal Protection?

I have modern handguns of all kinds and C&B handguns of all kinds. I carry a 1858 with 45lc handloads in the 800-900 fps range in my R&D cyclinder. I also carry a 1860 colt snubnosed revolver as backup to that in blackpowder cyclinder. I've done lots of testing such as keep the gun in my car in...

    Advice on type of pistol

I would look into get a remington 1858 5 1/2 or 8 inch barrel, which ever is more comfortable for you. I have both Pietta and Uberti 1858 5 1/2 inchers and love them both.

    Loading cap and ball revolver

I use lube at the range because of continued firing, but otherwise I just use the right size ball to seal the chamber and that usaully takes care of the problems and don't forget not to use caps that fall off because thats would be another place chain firing happens.(I think its the most usual...
