    Some more flame....

Couldn't tell you what the velocity is.... No way to measure it. Its definately slow though. You can see the round through binos when shooting. The round is not patched with the obvious effect resulting. Rob

    military heritage guns

I did the same as puffer and have had my Baker complete for about a year now. It took a long time to get it all done with the rifle criss crossing the continent a couple of times. The wood is not good (when compared to an Italian musket) but it is servicable and gives the rifle a used look...

    Some more flame....

Thanks for all the responses. These pictures looked so cool that I thought that others might think the same. They were taken with a digital camera and are stills from an avi movie that I took with that camera. The weapon is a India Pattern Brown Bess (from Loyalist Arms) shooting a...

    Some maintenance issues

I've come accross a few problems with my Euroarms 53 Enfield. 1. The nipple threads seems to be eroding and this is leading to gasses venting out through the threads and into my face. The underside of the nipple's rim is now all but comprimised as are all the threads underneath that part of...

    Does anybody use cartridge boxes?

The cartridges are made from a strip of computer paper 2 1/8 wide by 11 1/2 long. I fold them in half and then roll then around a 1/2" dowel and secure with tape. Then I wrap a piece of 3x4 waxed paper around the tube and fold the end and tape again. They are filled with 70gr 3F and twisted...

    Does anybody use cartridge boxes?

I didn't make the box I'm afraid.... The belt, the holster for the starter and the priming flask, the loops for the horn lanyard and a new internal block with holes for powder charges and a spill-proof compartment for balls was all I did. The box is made of heavy bridle leather... as is the...

    Does anybody use cartridge boxes?

The inside of the pouch......and belt. I've done all the leatherwork (yeah, it shows) but the box. Thanks, Rob

    Does anybody use cartridge boxes?

Here is the inside and the starter and primer pouch.... Was it the back of the pouch or the belt that you wanted to look at? I think that I am going to move the primer, starter and the patch pouch to a single pouch on a belt on the waist. Easier to get at the patches... Thanks, Rob

    Kasenit

Well, I think that I got it to work. I made a crude forge with some brick and positioned the frizzen with the face up. The torch was underneath facing the underside. The frizzen never got yellow but did get nice and red. All I did was lift a brick to expose the face and pour a spoonful of...
