    Bear grease?

That's more in line with my thinking also...I feel better just giving it away to friends.

    Bear grease?

Actually I was thinking more of a barter or trade, but still that's a loophole. I don't mind at all giving it away to people that would appreciate it, I've been on the receiving end of a great amount of kindness from other folks that knew I would appreciate what they gave me, and I enjoy paying...

    Bear grease?

I would have thought that bear oil/grease might be illegal to sell. I know the state of WI has specific language to the selling of bear parts because of the gall bladders and black market. I was going to comb through our regs and see what the wording might be. I usually have a couple friends...

    Hello from WI

Thanks guys. I've always tweaked and smithed my own guns, but always admired my uncles rifles that he built... REAL craftmanship. If I can make a few even close to the quality he does, I will be very happy. The rifling bench just sort of showed up and it was too good of a deal to pass on.

    Bear grease?

When I shot my bear last year, I knew I wanted to render the fat out, so I saved all of it, including the stuff I scraped off the hide before tanning. I ended up with a Nesco full of it and cooked it down for some time. This was off a smallish bear in the 170lb range. I have a few friends...

    barrel brand experiences

That is Mark DeHass. Very little info on his barrels, but what little I could find were very good reports.

    barrel brand experiences

I have a couple barrels for up-coming projects and want to know what experience some of you have with these and other brands. First is a couple barrels from DeHass. I just can't find much information out there on his barrels. What I did find was positive, but I'd like to hear any experience...

    Bear grease?

Now that begs a question too. I actually canned my grease in mason jars, pouring it in piping hot and sealed the jars up, all the lids sealed well. I've heard it can go rancid on you, but how long do you thing it would stay good in those jars if they stay sealed??? I have them in pint jars...

    Bear grease?

I've read in a few of the books with references made to rendered bear grease as the best patch lubricant. Has anyone ever tried it, and how well does it work? I shot my first bear last fall here in WI and rendered out 12 quarts of it. I used it for a cutting lubricant while cutting some...

    Hello from WI

Thought I'd introduce myself. Been lurking for a few weeks and think this looks like a great muzzleloading site. I have been hunting, fishing, trapping, gunsmithing, etc... anything to do with the outdoors, for the last 20 years, I'm usually in. I have an uncle who got me interested in the...
