    Indiana whitetail

The Hosier national is easy to get lost in. I went there a couple years ago looking for mushrooms and went down a big hill into a valley with alot of elms. When I went back up the hill I didn't see the trail. It took me about 15 minutes to find the trail because the trail curved and I went up...

Traditions Kentucky Long Rifle 50 cal

I have the same problem as you. I inherrited a thompson 50 caliber percusion that was already built and I was going to use it in a shoot this fall but the 75 grains powder I was using made it kick like a 10 guage. It's not a bad gun and I'd use it mpre often if it wasn't fore the kick. I have a...

    Minimum Caliber for wild boar

My late muzzleloader season deerstand is in thick wild hog country and I hope to get a chance at a hog this year. I ussualy take a 50 caliber deer hunting with me but I was told recently that hogs have a thick shoulder blade and if I don't hit the hog in a small area behind the shoulder my 50...

    What lube is the best

I have always used bore butter until this year when I was told to use mink oil instead because it is more consistant in cold temperature. I have also heard of people using crisco patrolium and beeswax. Which lube allows for the greatest precision and accuracy?

    Trigger pull adjustment

What is the ideal pull weight for the front trigger on a CVA double trigger? Do you want it as lite as posible or is there a point where the pull becomes too lite? Also is there a curtain distance you want the trigger to move when you pull it to improve accuracy and minimize flinching?

    Do caps go bad?

I have a friend who throws out his caps each year after deer season because supposedly caps can become unreliable after a year and may not fire. He told me I need throw out all my old caps too. I have several containers of caps that are a few years old and I have never had problems with them not...
