    The gun that killed Lincoln

Actually John Wilkes Booth was a patsy and didn't fire the fatal shot. That shot was fired from the grassy knoll.

When was the hay day of the Hawken?

Pretty new to the world of muzzeloaders here. I would think a "Hawkin" style firearm would be a percussion (although I have read the Hawkin brothers did make some flinters) while a "Pennsylvania" or "Kentucky" rifle would be a flinter and not a percussion. Would I be correct in this assesment?

    "Cocktail anyone ?"

Thx for all the replies and input. Seems like the consensus is it would be OK, but not the ideal solution. As necessity is the mother of invention will have to do for now.

    "Cocktail anyone ?"

Spring thaw is upon us here in Buffalo WY and time to get back to the range. We are all aware of the BP shortage. I have a .50 cal. Traditions that I bought last year and took to the range a couple times. Was shooting with Triple Seven 3F which went off most of the time, but most on here are of...

    Traditions Trapper Pistol

Checked Sportman's Warehouse the other day and nothing. I do have enough BP to get started, but that's cost some whip getting it shipped. May very well land up as a wall hanger at least for a while. I'll keep checking online maybe the supply will loosen up.

Can you give me more info on the cap maker from Sharpshooter? Found the store online but can't find the product you refer. TIA

    Traditions Trapper Pistol

Received my Trapper pistol yesterday. Looks like a nice piece. I bought the finished model rather than the kit because it was only $10 more and I am too busy now with fishing and camping as my leisure time activities. I intend to put together a kit Kentucky flintlock as a winter project when...

Lewis and Clark Corps of Discovery firarms.

Thx for all the replies, great information for me to do further research. Particularly interesting is the history of the Girandon air rifle (thanks Phil !) , I would never have thought they would have an air rifle. I assume it was used for small game (not grizzlies)? But with space for...

Lewis and Clark Corps of Discovery firarms.

Watched the Ken Burns video on the Lewis and Clark expedition the other night and it mentioned they took the "finest rifles available" and made several other references to using their weapons during the expedition. I was wondering what type of firearms they had. Anyone know or could point me to...

    Johnson County Wyoming

Where men are men, the sheep are nervous, and there's only been one legal hanging. Bought a Traditions Flint Deerhunter a while ago with the intention of going deer hunting but didn't get to it this year. But learning the ropes (been to the range a couple of times) and loving shooting the smoke...
