I think I just bought a GRRW Leman

I always remove the lock ,wrap it seperately & tape it to the outside of the bubble wrapped barrel so it wont get lost. Packs up easier & minimises the risk of damage

GOEX IN STOCK AT BUFFALO ARMS

In the current situation a big order i would consider hoarding & if you can afford to to protect your future needs, why not ? On the other hand if you kept a stock of components & continually restocked plus a little extra each time you purchase i would not consider that hoading but good...

Dang pawn shop did it again.

I picked up an original Charliville ( light patina on steel, mint shiny bore ) with matching original bayonet in a pawn shop in Tennessee for $500. Buy of a lifetime

    Comments at the range

great collection there, BUT , all the locks are on the wrong side lol. Most my muzzleloaders are L/H ( mainly flintlocks ) including those built by Tipp Curtis.

    Dixie you will get it

Packaging is not the problem, with the amount of parcels being shipped these days the couriers can not handle the load. If you need it desperately go for a drive & pick it up. I recently drove 700km round trip to collect a firearm.

Need a permit to purchase a BP revolver?

In Australia Muzzle loaders ( rifle, shotgun ,pistol, revolvers ) are deemed to be items of mass destruction & registration is required & can only be sold from dealer to dealer. Most clubs can witness a transfer but prior application is via Police written approval. However antiques prior 1900...

    Burned by USPS

I have been to the US many times for BP competitions at Friendship etc. I don't take BP long arms as they are readily available & cheap. Sometimes i resell them there but most times ship them back to Australia, some i carry back depending on other luggage as we travel around for 2-3 months...

powder in the pan ignites powder in chamber

I can rember over 40years ago when i had my first flintlock which would not spark under any circumstances. A new club, new members & we knew jack about flintlocks except they were useless. When i wanted to shoot this one , i would load it, prime the pan , take aim & with the frizzen forward...

    Just supposed

My advice has always been -- stock up on lead, primers, flints & powder as often as & you can, even if you don't neccesesary need them now, place them in dry storage & you will be shooting in years to come at today's prices when everyone else is whineing about the price. Set a target amount of...

Not too happy with Brown Bess purchase, best way to fix?

I recently purchased a Pedersoli 20g side X side double flintlock shotgun & the workmanship & finish of this item is fantastic, it would match any of the custom grade guns i have

Max recommended load for 12g Colerain?

just to clarify i am only talking skeet/trap loads not hunting loads, one time ( while helping a newby ) i did accidently load 2 measures of shot on top of 90g 2f & the shotgun leapt out of my hands.

Max recommended load for 12g Colerain?

12g i use equal powder, equal shot by measure . 1 1/8 of 2f & 1 1/8 of #7 shot. Good enough for State, National & International trophies. I use exactly the same load for BP cartridge with modern straight wall cases then ditch the cases in the bin, a once only use

Your best deal acquiring a muzzleloader, either trade or purchase

My best buy from a pawn shop in Tennesse was an original Charleville with mint bore & included the original bayonet. Shoots exceptionally well, was well worth the $500. Refused an offer for $2800 from a CW collector & brought it back home to Australia

    G'day from Australia

I am a flinter & use & prefer Wano in PP & PPP in calibers from .32 to .71. I find the Swiss highly over rated & too expensive. I can shoot .58 mini's all day with Wano & not have to swab the barrel. However with Swiss & a lesser amout of powder & the barrel is badly fowled after 3 or 4...
