Am I the only one who doesn’t really care for carving on a rifle stock?
LOL !!! Funny you would mention this !! I build strictly trade guns ... Ive built a few rifles but just dont have the love for rifles like I do trade guns , esp. N.W. guns and Carolina Guns but ....funny thing , I can look at carving on a rifle , I can appreciate it and even marvel at it BUT...- Rob M.

Funny .... The first two gun I made I used bright red lip stick ! Works good but ... Its weird ... LOL ... The next 5-6 guns I used an old antique oil.lamp made to put off lots of black sout when the wick is turned up a bit ... It worked great ! Loved it ... Ken Netting showed me that trick...- Rob M.

I made me a longer barreled one , now I need a short barreled one !! One with one of those 100 yr. old. 24 ga. barrels , 26" long ! Plus ! My N dfy Ken gave me an original Oct. to round barrel out of her s collection of barrels ! Its probably a late barrel 1840s or 50s but its got "LONDON "...- Rob M.

Temp rear sight for my NWTG
I know this isn't really a " rear sight on smoothbore barrels " post but .... I just gotta ! One of my favs !! I'm never going to be a wing shooter. Be amazing but never going to happen so ...the rear sight on a smooth bore barrel has always been very helpful and made my guns much more useful...- Rob M.

Ya ever get a loose dovetail like that again ....you can " dimple " the bottom of the dovetail up with a punch or nail set ... Tightens it right back up .... Good shootin !- Rob M.
