WANTED Slung holster for Pedersoli sxs howdah pistol

Here is an answer some of us sought about these cool Pedersoli “Howdah” double pistols. This is the shoulder-slung holster for the pistol referenced above. Overall it is well made. The holster is just a wee bit small, and so it ends up with a dangling flap hanging off the end. 🧐🤫🫨 Maybe the gun...

Pedersoli 20 gauge Howdah wad punch size

So I got an Osborne 5/8" punch that produces .625" wads, and they are too small in the 20 Ga. Howdah BUT a perfect fit in the Howdah .58 rifled pistol. So a 16mm punch is going to have to suffice. Good advice, Historian, thanks.

    pennsylvania bear hunting

The biggest pile of fresh black bear poop I have seen was in Hickory Run State Park about five years ago. We covered a large part of the park, saw one scrawny little rub, no deer not even tails, and called it a success because it was new territory and has neat natural features like big rock...

The PA ‘One-of-a-Kind’ Flintlock Deer Season Turns 50!

You can purchase the muzzleloader option when you buy your PA hunting license, which allows you to hunt antlerless (doe) only in mid-October and flintlock only from December 26 til mid to late January, depending on the WMU. However, you will have a tough time at this late point finding a doe tag...

Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum firearms

This very early bp “hand gun” was especially tough to photograph because of all the reflections around it. But it is fascinating. A mini hand-held cannon. Looks pretty crude, and has the mounting swivels for a boat.

Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum firearms

Spent time fishing and exploring Hatteras last week. The Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum has some fascinating muzzleloading weapons. I took the best pictures I could. The mini cannon is a Lyle Gun, mostly used for firing lifesaving floats out to shipwreck victims. The torpedo looking projectile...

Pedersoli 20 gauge Howdah wad punch size

I think the #11 is 3/8” = .375”, and I will be aiming for just a hair over .625” , which is probably best served by the 11/16” punch

Pedersoli 20 gauge Howdah wad punch size

Thanks, Fred. I bought both the 20 gauge and the 58 to hunt with, and I am looking forward to getting educated about what other owners have done

Pedersoli 20 gauge Howdah wad punch size

Six months later, I am curious about what Nunz and Historian and Freedom and Gum Slough Muzzleloader have learned with their Pedersoli 20 Ga. howdah pistols. Charge, ball or buck or both, wad size and material....I am excited to learn mine and take it hunting

WANTED Slung holster for Pedersoli sxs howdah pistol

Good point, and I will do so, thanks for encouraging me, because I don't know if I would have thought to do it. I probably would have stuffed the pistol in and if it fits, great, and if not, whatever. I did order this rig two days ago and mailed the check out this morning, so it will be a couple...
