Amongst my more fun rifles are my Pedersoli Kodiak/Safari Express in 0.72. These are very popular here in South Africa. I wanted one for a long time and they never came up. 2came up on different auctions at the same time and I did lowish bids on both and ended up with both. The Kodiak had been shot and not cleaned and had some pitting but still shoots spot on. Both barrels regulate at 50m to about max 1.5 inch of each other.

On the Kodiak I fitted tang ghost ring sight, I think a Lyman one??? This works well.

The Safari Express only difference is the side plates have an African theme.

This Safari Express also has rework of the wood. This was done locally by Classic-Arms and involved a new profile for the cheek piece and the wood being oiled.

Also I shoot mainly 3 types of bullet, a .715 PRB and 2 types of conical. The better is one from a mold by Mike Neumann being a 700grn hollow based conical and one I cast myself being a 700grn flat based conical. The RB is shot with 120grn powder and the conicals with 100grn powder.

If that’s the peep you’re using, it was made by Thompson Center and it’s a good solid piece of gear. Beautiful rifless.

I did the same thing with putting a low bid at a local auction and ended up with the 72 and the 54 caliber versions. I got a mold and cast some lead balls for the 72, but never shot it and sold it. My shoulders aren't in great condition and I didn't want to risk shoulder damage just to shoot the gun. When I sold it, that money covered all but $200 on what paid for both rifles and the bullet mold. I really like the 54 caliber, but haven't shot it enough to find the best loads yet.
